The Air-O-Swiss Ultrasonic Cool Mist Humidifier 7145 is a high-quality ultrasonic humidifier featuring a premium titanium transducer surface, which uses adjustable high-frequency vibrations to turn water into a micro-fine mist, which is blown into the room to evaporate. Unlike other ultrasonic humidifiers, the Air-O-Swiss titanium transducer surface is much stronger than ordinary metals, resists rust, lasts longer and requires less cleaning. The Air-O-Swiss 7145 features a tri-band microbial protection system which guarantees that the water will be kept free from harmful bacteria and viruses. A replaceable demineralization cartridge (Ag+ Ionic Silver Technology) helps reduce ?white dust" (lime scale and other mineral deposits from the mist output). In addition, the patented Ionic Silver Stick uses aqueous silver ions to control microbial growth for up to one year of continuous use. It is self-regulating and maintenance-free.

It appears I have the exact same problem as the previous reviewer James. I can only assume that they got a bad batch of membranes and will have this remedied promptly, and am returning the unit under its 3-year warranty for a replacement. It is exactly as promised; it does its work quickly and effectively, generating a fine mist with no residue. It requires little maintenance compared with standard, filter humidifiers and it allows the user to control not only the humidity level but also the rate by which it reaches that level. My only complaint? It is TOO QUIET! My older, noisier machine served also as a white-noise system to help my children sleep. Now, I have to go out and buy a real white noise machine. I guess that's not much of a complaint. If you're serious about getting a top level humidifier at a reasonable price, get this one. |
