Air-O-Swiss U650 Digital Warm & Cool Mist Ultrasonic Humidification System

Product Description

This Digital Warm & Cool Mist Ultrasonic humidifier uses high-frequency vibrations to turn the water into a micro-fine mist that creates a comfortable environment in any room. Choose the pre-heating function and mist exits the appliance at a pleasant 104 F. ITC technology (Intelligent Temperature Compensation) monitors the temperature and automatically adjusts the output when conditions change. A replaceable demineralization cartridge ensures a water mist without lime scale or mineral residues, and the included Hydro Stick keeps the humidifier clean and fresh longer. This is particularly important when the humidifier is not used for some time with water remaining in the base.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pricey, Elegant, Functional, November 6, 2010

After having an infant addition to our family, I began looking for a humidifier especially with the Winter season fast approaching. I was looking at function, maintenance parts and prices as well as build quality and design. I didn't like how the various humidifiers looked like - too quirky, too plastic-looking, too generic.

Then this Air-O-Swiss U650 caught my eye. It had an elegant design and shiny white colour that would fit any contemporary home. It reminded me of our Rabbit Air purifier in both elegant design and price. If I were to add this to our home, it wouldn't be an eye sore.

FEATURES:

1. Digital Display. Easy to read display even from afar to spot check it's current setting.

2. Sensitive Touch Controls. No need to press oddly raised buttons. This one sits flush on the unit for a seamless and simple design.

3. Simple Amber Lighting. No multi-coloured tacky lighting. This reminded me of the old German car... Read more

1.0 out of 5 stars Lasted ONE week, December 19, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?)
This review is from: Air-O-Swiss U650 Digital Warm & Cool Mist Ultrasonic Humidification System (Kitchen)
I loved this machine while it lasted. It has great looks, quiet operation, and a sleek control panel. The buttons are touch screen sensitive. I used it at night in my 2 month olds bedroom. After one week of using it it started leaking from the bottom, it left everything on my sons dresser saturated. All of the electronic components and mechanicals are enclosed in the bottom and there are several holes on the bottom for ventilation I suppose. Water was leaking through there some how. I inspected it closely and I could not see any damage or reason for it to be leaking. Best Vacuum (the company who actually sells it through Amazon) was great through the whole process, quick shipping initially, no problems returning it, they paid the return shipping and gave a full refund. I guess I got a dud, its a new model, maybe they havent worked out all the kinks yet. Im going to get a $30 cool mist for now. Maybe I'll spring for this model again after the problems are sorted out.

3.0 out of 5 stars Nice unit, but why is it turning our gas flames orange? And the dust?, January 16, 2011
This review is from: Air-O-Swiss U650 Digital Warm & Cool Mist Ultrasonic Humidification System (Kitchen)
We have had this unit for about a month now. It seems to work well. The noise level is minimal. We use it downstairs in our "living/dining/kitchen" area and we fill it around twice a day (when we remember!). We have it in this location for daytime comfort (when our home thermostat temp is set to 68-70). We really do not need it at night in the bedroom because our nightime temp goes down to 60 - so we don't have to breathe in hot, dry air at night. It is also good for all our plants (many!) in our living area.

We have cleaned the base of the unit once without any problem. We are using tap water that is running through an under-sink carbon block filter, to fill the unit. This contains fewer minerals (causes less scale in our kettle) than our hard tap water.

However, we have noticed that when the unit is running, the flames from our stove burners turn orange. When the unit is off, the flames revert back to their normal blue. At first I thought there was a... Read more
